Cold-rolled steel is made from hot-rolled coils, which are rolled at room temperature below the recrystallisation temperature. The thickness of cold rolled steel sheet is generally between 0.1 and 8.0mm, with most factories producing cold rolled steel up to 4.5mm.

Cold Rolled  steel plate is made from hot rolled steel strip of ordinary carbon structural steel, which is further cold rolled to a thickness of less than 4mm.

As it is rolled at room temperature, no iron oxide is produced, therefore, the cold plate has good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy, and with the addition of annealing treatment, its mechanical properties and process properties are better than those of hot-rolled thin steel plates, and it has been gradually used to replace hot-rolled thin steel plates in many fields, especially in the field of appliance manufacturing.
